The vhw – Federal Association for Housing and Urban Development e. V. is a non-profit association with around 2,000 members, including municipalities and housing companies. The association is committed to powerful municipalities, a diverse civil society, and more local democracy through training and research. With over 2,000 events annually and more than 50,000 participants, vhw is one of the leading training providers for administration, municipal enterprises, and the real estate industry.
The Challenge
Before the introduction of evasys, evaluation questionnaires were manually created in Microsoft Word and the data analyzed with Microsoft Excel. This led to a significant workload, especially as the seminar offerings expanded. Systematic analysis of the results was only possible with considerable effort, which made comparing individual events, topic areas, and regions, as well as monitoring quality assessments over time, difficult. Therefore, finding a solution to automate and improve the efficiency of evaluation processes was essential.
The Solution
Since 2017, vhw has been using evasys for quality assurance in teaching. The evaluation processes have been centralized and automated. Participant surveys are conducted on paper, with plans to also include online surveys in the future. Surveys are carried out after each training event. The central offices are responsible for organizing the surveys, while technical support is provided by the “Address Management & Data Management” department. This department also makes content adjustments to the questionnaires when specific event formats require it.
Results of the Collaboration
With the introduction of evasys, vhw was able to significantly reduce the workload for evaluation processes. Automation limits the time required for the preparation and follow-up of participant surveys to about three minutes per event. The centralized storage and permanent availability of evaluation results enable systematic quality monitoring. The time saved allows for continuous optimization of the training offerings.
