A new chapter in company leadership

After more than 23 years at evasys, Silvio Ewert is stepping down from his operational role as Managing Director. Going forward, he will continue to support evasys as a member of the Advisory Board, contributing his experience and expertise. Boy Hengstmann will continue to lead evasys as CEO and Managing Director.

30th company anniversary

Founded in Lüneburg in 1996, evasys is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026. Over the past three decades, surveys, evaluations, and exams have fundamentally changed and we have evolved along with them. One thing, however, has remained unchanged: our close dialogue with our customers and our commitment to developing solutions that address real-world needs.

Release of evasys version 2025.1

In October, following an intensive development phase, we released the new evasys version 2025.1. This release introduced a wide range of improvements and new features designed to make the automation of survey management through scheduled processes even more flexible, transparent, and future-ready.

New product generation “evasys X”

In April 2024, the time had finally come: our new version evasys X was released! With this version, not only do our previous three products evasys, evasys+ and evainsights merge into a new overall solution, but we are also particularly pleased to be able to offer an innovative, cloud-based and AI-supported solution for your reporting with our new insights component.

ISO 27001 certification

We were proud to receive our ISO 27001 certificate in April 2024. ISO 27001 is an internationally recognized standard for information security management that sets strict requirements for the protection of sensitive information and data. ISO 27001 certification demonstrates our commitment to the highest security standards and the confidentiality of your data.

At evasys GmbH, we take data protection and information security seriously. By implementing a comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 27001, we ensure that your data is protected and secure at all times. Our team of experts is constantly working to improve our security measures and stay one step ahead of the ever-changing threats in the digital world.

evasys Online Conference 2021

With more than 170 participants, the two-day evasys Online Conference took place on 22. and 23. September 2021. The success story of evasys is based on the large community and the direct contact to our customers and partners. We are already looking forward to meet all of you at our next evasys conference in September 2022, then hopefully in presence.

25th company anniversary

The company evasys GmbH was founded in 1996 under the name “Electric Paper” in Lüneburg and now has almost 70 employees. We work at four locations (Lüneburg, Hamburg, Budapest & Edinburgh) in three European countries.

Starting signal for the “Smart Data Insights” project

The importance of big data is omnipresent for us and our customers. Since spring 2021, we therefore have been building an additional development team that focuses exclusively on the evaluation and use of collected data in the context of survey and exam processes.

New management

Our founders and owners decided to rejuvenate our management team with Silvio Ewert (CTO) and Dr. Laurent Lazar (CEO). Our founders remain as valued advisors today.

Expansion of product portfolio

qurricula becomes part of our offerings, which simplifies accreditation processes for higher education institutions. evasys engagement (formerly evasys+) enhances evasys’ functionality for our customers.

Major release: version 8.0

After two years of development, we released the latest version of evasys with many new features and improved functionality based on customer feedback.

Family-friendly company award

We received the FaMi certificate, which recognizes our commitment to supporting our employees. We understand the need to balance family and career, so we provide flexible working hours and home office allowances.

evaexam is introduced to the US

Our partner and reseller in the United States, Scantron, introduced evaexam to the world’s leading educational market.

Establishment of employee union

Our employee union was founded and elected for Electric Paper Evaluationssysteme GmbH so our employees have a platform to suggest changes and improvements to our internal operations, and actively participate and take responsibility for ongoing growth.

1,300+ contractual partners

Another milestone was achieved, with more than 1,300 contractual partners across the globe.

Community platform

Our community platform was established so our customers can exchange experiences, ideas, and solutions to specific challenges. Complementing our conferences and webinars, this is a large part of the thriving community we have today.

20th company birthday

We celebrated our 20th year of operation with over 50 employees, 10 international partners, and customers in 20 countries worldwide.

Global introduction of evaexam

evaexam went global with various resellers offering our assessment automation suite to universities, private course providers, and further education and extension studies sectors.

Separation of Electric Paper GmbH (EPE/EPI)

EPE was divided into two business units to accelerate growth: Electric Paper Evaluationssysteme GmbH holds and develops our products; Electric Paper Informationssysteme GmbH acts as a service company for customized survey and data collection management (without owning the intellectual property).

Our second subsidiary

Electric Paper Ltd. was established as a wholly-owned subsidiary to service the growing needs of the United Kingdom.

500+ customers

A milestone, more than 500 customers work with our products.

evaexam was developed

By listening to the growing needs of our customers in the higher education sector, we created evaexam to automate and improve the quality of their tests and examination processes.

Our first webinar

Our first free focus webinar for customers took place. Since then, hundreds of focus webinars have followed to ensure our customers get the most from our products.

Entry into the US Market

We expanded our reseller network to service the North American market.

First evasys Conference in Bad Homburg

We recognized our customers’ desire to meet us and each other to network and exchange ideas. Our annual evasys conference has now become the largest of its kind in the DACH region.

Our first evasys customer

evasys was installed for the Berufsakademie Ravensburg (known today as Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW)).

Our first subsidiary

Electric Paper Schweiz GmbH was founded as a subsidiary for the growing Swiss market.

evasys was developed

Advances in software and hardware, as well as an understanding of our customers’ needs, led to the development of evasys, which automates survey and feedback gathering processes.

A bigger office

As our number of employees grew, so did our need for a larger office. We moved to Konrad-Zuse-Allee in Lüneburg. Over 30 years later, our headquarters are still here.
