Creating exam situations: secure and transparent online exams with evaexam version 8.2
With evaexam version 8.2, online exams will not only appear in a new, modern design, but the new start page in evaexam also offers participants more transparency and security when taking the exam. In the following, you will learn everything about the new procedure for online exams.
The evaexam version 8.2 is coming soon, and with it our online exams make a mighty leap forward. They will be even more transparent, efficient, and modern. We have changed the user experience for the exam participants in several respects: Not only do the exams appear – thanks to a new online template – in a fresh and modern design. The introduction of a new start page has also added an element to the exam process that offers participants more security and transparency.
Online exams are exciting for both participants and examiners. For participants in particular, the already existing excitement about the content of the exam may be accompanied by uncertainties about the technical implementation – especially in the case of remote exams from home: Can I really access the exam? When exactly does it start? What do I need to keep in mind to ensure that everything runs smoothly?
The new start page, from which online exams will now be launched in the future, can address all of these issues and thus reduce a stress factor for students. It fits seamlessly into the workflow of online exams and is integrated as a fixed anchor point.
How it works:
- The examiners create their online exam in evaexam as usual, whereby the exam is initially still closed. Optimally, the participants are also imported with their e-mail address. Afterwards, the start time can be configured via the scheduled tasks.
- In the next step, the e-mail invitations are sent to the participants. The e-mail text can be provided with a direct link via a new placeholder, which leads the participants directly to the start page without having to enter a PSWD.
- Participants can access the start page in advance of the exam via the link in the email. On the page itself, you will now see the start time of the exam, a timer showing the remaining time until the exam, and an area with information and confirmation fields that you or the examinees themselves can enrich with content. In this way, the participants can be sure that access via the browser will work before the exam begins, can read through the information provided at their leisure, enter their matriculation number (if this has not been imported) and wait for the exam to begin. After the timer has expired, the exam can be started by clicking the [Beginn exam] button.
- The exam now presents itself in a new, modern look, which is also even better suited for display and operation on mobile devices.
Our tip: Be sure to conduct a small test run with your participants – perhaps with an online exercise – so that everyone can familiarize themselves with the new process and the new design.
